
History
ZHR Polish Scouts of Canada came about in the summer of 1996, in the hopes of fulfilling an insufficiency in the Polish Canadian Society. It is a patriotic, idealistic, independent and self governed organization of children, teens, and adults alike. The Ideals of ZHRwK are evident in the Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Brownies Promise and Oath, as well as the leader's sworn duty, and are enshrined in the organizations Statute. ZHRwK continues the achievements, history, and traditions of polish as well as worldwide scouting.
ZHRwK bases its work on fundamental scouting motives like:
- Duty, Brotherhood, and Realization.
ZHRwK commenced its work with one district "Quo Vadis" in Scarborough, following suite additional districts formed: "Millenium" in Etobicoke, "Zodiak" in Peterborough, "Dolina" in Newmarket, "Czarna Trzynastka Kanadyjska" in Kitchener, "Przedwiosnie" in Richmond Hill, and lastly "Orle Gniazdo" in Midland.
ZHR Polish Scouts of Canada is registered under the federal government as a "non-profit" scouting organization and attains all required by law insurances and authorization for existence. Beginning with the year 2005 ZHRwK is a member of the Polish Canadian Congress.
